About the event
The Kinsan Festival is a celebration of, and a paean to, the KINSAN, a fish that inhabits off the waters of Aloguinsan. It has come to symbolize the town, its etymology, its history and its people. It is an event that strengthens social bonds and accentuates collective aspiration. Dancers imitate the fluid and graceful movement of the KINSAN, and the story draws inspiration from the age-old fishing rituals of pre-Hispanic Bisayans. The dance also demonstrates the values of persistence, hard work and unity.
