Siloy Festival

The Siloy Festival gives importance to the Black Shama, locally known as Siloy, a rare and endemic bird to the island of Cebu, the biggest remaining population found in Alcoy which will be celebrating the 131st Annual Town Fiesta on the last Friday and Saturday of August. The Siloy Festival aside from giving thanks to the Patroness St. Rose of Lima is a vehicle to create awareness to the existence of this rare bird as a treasure to see and hear in a natural habitat, the biggest natural forest in Cebu at approximately 700 hectares.
