About the event
A tradition of the first harvest offering coinciding on the feast day of the patron saint of the town.Derived from the early ritual practices of ancient Duerohanons, offering their harvest to the church and is exactly measured as a form of Thanksgiving and to seek favor for a more bountiful harvest throughout the year. Takgay comes from the blending two old cebuano words "takus gayud" which means the exact measure of the bountiful and abundance of harvested rice of the farmers from Duero.
