Who we are

The Department of Tourism (DOT) shall be the primary government agency charged with the responsibility to encourage, promote, and develop tourism as a major socio-economic activity to generate foreign currency and employment and to spread the benefits of tourism to both the private and public sector.

As Central Visayas' primary tourism authority, DOT Region VII collaborates with government, industry, and communities to advance sustainable and globally competitive tourism through destination marketing, product development, investment promotion, quality assurance, tourism standards, and stakeholder capacity-building, strengthening the region's appeal to domestic and international travelers.

The region

The two provinces

Central Visayas comprises the provinces of Bohol and Cebu.The Department's regional office works alongside the provincial and city tourism offices, which publish their own guides:

Vision

The Department of Tourism Central Visayas Office (DOT Region VII) serves as the regional arm of the Philippine Department of Tourism, leading the development, promotion, and stewardship of the tourism industry across the Central Visayas region, particularly the provinces of Bohol and Cebu.

To develop a globally competitive, environmentally sustainable and socially responsible tourism industry that promotes inclusive growth through employment generation and equitable distribution of income, thereby contributing to building a foundation for a high-trust society.
